Creating Your Ideal Life: The Power of Incremental Change

The power of small steps

It's spring, and slowly, we are having more light, longer, and warmer days. The gardens are starting to be cleaned, and dead leaves, gravel, and unwanted remains from the winter are removed. Watching all the action makes me wonder about building and living the life I dreamed of. If I asked you to describe your dream life, you might have an idea or not, and having everything you want can be daunting, or worse you can feel just disconnected from your dream and not even believe it's possible. But from my experience, it is possible. It's your responsibility to create it and live consciously connected to your dream so it can happen.

Even when I visualize what I want to create and how I want to live, it sometimes feels overwhelming, especially when it requires transformation and growth (Most of the time, it's inevitable). The truth is that changing is challenging and uncomfortable, but we have ways to go around it. Sometimes you want to run toward your dreams, and it's ok, but if you feel you are tired, that it's too much work, you don't know what to do next, or even mistakenly believe you don't have what it takes to get there. Don't stop. Just change your approach. Keep moving forward with small, steady steps, celebrate each accomplishment, and enjoy the journey.

Stop looking around and searching for a reference.

Your ego and rational mind are often conditioned to seek external validation and benchmarks for measuring success and happiness. In a world inundated with comparisons and societal norms, it's easy to fall into the trap of constantly evaluating yourself against others. However, true joy and fulfillment stem from within. Turning your focus inward and listening to yourself can uncover what truly matters to you. What activities ignite your passion? What relationships bring you genuine happiness? What pursuits make you feel most alive and vibrant? Instead of relying on external metrics or societal expectations to gauge your worth, you can cultivate a deeper understanding of your values, desires, and aspirations. This inner exploration allows you to align your actions with your authentic self, leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life driven by personal meaning rather than external validation. By honoring your unique preferences and passions, you pave the way for a deeper sense of contentment and joy that transcends superficial measures of success.

Connect more to your heart.

From a young age, we learn that using our minds is the most important thing. You must be rational and analyze the world to see what is best for you. I'm not saying that you don't have to do that, but a big part of your thinking about what is rational comes from beliefs you develop over the years, and many of them are just not true. Connecting to your heart's intelligence is a way to empower your rational mind, and using both is not a conflict. It's important to know that the heart doesn't make mistakes like your logical mind because it's deeply connected to your inner guidance system.

Stop wishing; it's time to create a vision.

What do you want to have and be in a year? Maybe you want a new house or car, a more romantic relationship, a new career, becoming healthier, increasing your income, or a new relationship… What are you consciously doing to get there? Are you enjoying what you are doing? If you are not doing anything, you must look for your wishes and create a clearer vision. If you are taking actions but are not enjoying you must check your vision; something is off.

Do what is essential for you

In conclusion, the journey towards living the life of our dreams is not about grand gestures or sudden transformations but rather the cumulative effect of small, consistent actions aligned with our heart's desires. Feeling overwhelmed or uncertain when envisioning significant change or growth is understandable. However, it's crucial to remember that progress is made step by step.

Rather than seeking external validation or comparing ourselves to others, we should focus inward and listen to our needs and aspirations. What brings us joy and fulfillment? Connecting with our heart's intelligence alongside rational thought can guide us toward decisions that resonate deeply with our true selves.

Furthermore, instead of merely wishing for change, we must actively cultivate a clear vision of our desired future and take deliberate steps toward it. Whether it's improving relationships, career goals, health, or personal growth, each action aligned with our vision brings us closer to our dreams.

Ultimately, embracing the power of small, intentional actions and staying connected to our authentic desires can pave the way for a life that reflects our deepest aspirations. Let's celebrate each accomplishment along this journey and savor the transformation as it unfolds, one small step at a time.
